Live music, fragrant tropical flowers, scrumptious wedding cake, flowing champagne...Come to Cozumel Island where the past meets the future and where the beauty of the beaches meets the mystery of the Maya Culture. Listed below are the documents required for a marriage in Mexico. You will also need four witnesses (two witnesses each).

Valid Passports: Please Note: if you do not have a passport, your Birth Certificate will need an Apostille issued by the Secretary of State, of that State at which the certificate was registered. These documents will need to be translated into Spanish by the certified translator in Cozumel.  

Canadian Citizens: if you do not have a passport, you will need the original Birth Certificate with a raised seal, translated into Spanish by our translator. Copy of the visa/immigration slip that you receive upon arrival to Mexico.

Blood tests, taken in Cozumel (if you would like to take them in your own Country, they will need to be Certified by a Doctor in Mexico, at a charge) Tests: Blood Type and VDRL. Tests should not be older than 20 days before the wedding date.
