Chankanaab is a beach and adventure park located inside the National Reef Marine Park. Literally translating to “little sea” in the Mayan language, it is one of the top-rated Cozumel destinations and offers most activities for families. The park has an entrance fee, however, it is all used to improve the island, and make it even more beautiful.
Chankanaab features a beautiful, natural beach and reef area which is ideal for a full day of swimming and snorkeling. The facilities such as restrooms, hammocks, and huts are available to everyone. With your ticket, you’ll be able to enjoy a load of activities. This also includes a generous amount of tours such as eco-archeological tours, scuba tours and memorable “swim with dolphins” tours. Additionally, you can enjoy one of the many shows and exhibitions, such as the kids-friendly sea lion show. Completed with an additional offer that includes a zip-line course, spa treatments, and tequila-tasting, the Chankanaab has something for every member of your family.
Spend a day in paradise on the beautiful Paradise beach, located just 10 minutes from the cruise port. This beach is designed for families and has a massive aqua park packed with inflatable water toys. They include addicting trampolines, challenging wall climbing icebergs and fun floating paths.
The water park entrance costs around $20, but it’s worth it. Your kids will be able to have loads of fun and explore their climbing skills all day. They can also swim in the pool near the beach. Adults will appreciate the picture worthy stretch of white, soft sand and the sun loungers that are dotted across the whole area. Try a cocktail at one of the bars and some local dishes at the restaurants for a full experience. However, swim only on the parts marked with a green flag since other parts are not as safe, especially for children.
Playa Mia is a perfect beach for families. Although it is a popular spot, it’s not too crowded since it’s the largest beach on the entire island. Like the Paradise beach, it has a water park with inflatable toys where your kids will have a blast! Additionally, they can spend some time in the play area under the supervision of beach personnel. While they are playing, you can relax on one of the sun loungers or have a drink at the bar, that sits just next to the swimming pool.
If you are more into active vacations, you’ll also love it here. Playa Mia features all kinds of watersports, such as paddleboarding, snorkeling and jet-ski tours. When you’re done with swimming, you can try out the cocoa factory tour, where you’ll learn to make authentic chocolates. Cooking class led by a chef a fun choice for your lunch, or you can have one at the huge restaurant on site. All things considered, Playa Mia is doubtlessly one of the best family spots on Cozumel.
Mr. Sanchos Beach
The largest private beach in Cozumel, Mr. Sanchos is an awesome place for the entire family. If you just want to check out the beach and have a quick swim, then you won’t have to pay anything. For a full day of activities though, the all-inclusive day-pass package would be the most affordable choice. Mr. Sancho’s beach is distinguished with 3 large polls and lovely bars with swing seats instead of chairs. Once it’s time for lunch, the beach restaurant is a must because it offers some of the best food on the island.
Mr. Sanchos offers a full day of activities, for both children and adults. Wave runner will give you a memorable thrill, while the horseback riding allows you to explore the beach in the most beautiful way. If you want to have the best view of Cozumel, try out the parasailing adventure. Kids can explore the aqua park with inflatable toys, but only if they are experienced swimmers. The park is located around 100 yards away from the shore, so it may be too big of a challenge for small kids.
